United Methodist Women - UMW

The organized unit of UMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Simply put, we are group of women who supports missions. However, United Methodist Women is so much more. Not only does the larger group support missions, but our circles support missions near and dear to their hearts as well. As members of United Methodist Women, we grow spiritually with Bible study within our own circles, and as a larger group participate in the annual Lenten Study and Spiritual Growth Retreat. We develop supportive communities through our small group participation in circle. This is a wonderful way to become involved in a small group of women with similar interests and life situations as well as supporting missions. We invite you to join us!

Northbrook UMC presently has seven Circle groups, each having its own personality and mission emphasis. Five of the Circles meet in the morning, one Circle meets in the afternoon, and one Circle meets in the evening. Each group meets once a month, Sept. – May, in a member’s home, or at the church, or at a mission location.
