Northbrook Orchestra

Open to senior high and adult woodwind, brass, string and percussion players, the orchestra is a wonderful mixture of young and old, member and non-member, that has given its participants an opportunity to take a skill they love, playing an instrument, and use it to praise God.

The orchestra plays regularly in worship services and provides special music at holidays. Our goals this year are to increase membership and to play more often in Sunday worship. If you have played an instrument before, even years ago, take heart! Many of our members resumed play after a long absence by joining the orchestra. Rather than "waiting until they were ready," they discovered that having something specific to practice was all the motivation they needed.

Northbrook's orchestra has also served as an outreach to the community. Several of our members are not church members, but they have joined us because of the opportunity to play. We welcome and invite non-members to join us and pray that perhaps one day they might consider Northbrook their church home.

Whether you play a woodwind, brass, percussion, string, or keyboard instrument, there are opportunities to play in the church orchestra, as well as small ensemble and solo participation in regular and special services.
