Northbrook has a very active UMM
Fellowship that meets regularly once
per month for breakfast in the
Fellowship Hall. Two meetings per
quarter are held on the first Saturday
of the month and are primarily focused
on fellowship and service projects.
Following a great breakfast prepared
by the men, the group tackles a
project in our community or at the
church. Elderly and shut-in members
are some of the recipients of the
group projects. The Saturday breakfast
starts at 8 A.M.
Once per quarter the breakfast meeting
is held on the first Sunday of the
month at 7:45 A.M. and is followed
by a speaker. In the past, a wide variety
of topics have been covered.
Topics addressing outreach and mission
opportunities have been very
popular.
The group also manages several
fund-raising activities including the
popular annual Sweetheart Dinner
and pecan sale. All funds raised
through these efforts are used for
missions and outreach.
In addition to the monthly service
projects, members have been very
active in numerous work trips to the
hurricane disaster areas, and have
participated in international mission
activities, primarily in Honduras.
Whether you are a new member or
have been around a while, whether
you are young or old, we would love
to have you join us for breakfast and
fellowship any time. New members
and new ideas are always welcome. |
| CHRISTMAS
TREES FOR KIDS: |
 |
We need people of all types to help make the
tree sale a success. If you can handle trees, if
you can sell trees, if you can work a cash register,
we need you. Each year the Christmas Tree Sale
generates more than $10,000 for projects sponsored
by our church. Proceeds from this year’s
Christmas tree sales will benefit the children
at the Murphy-Harpst
Children’s
Home in Cedartown and and
the LUKE
Project in Atlanta. Please register for as
many shifts as you are willing to work. Working
a shift on the lot is a wonderful family or small
group outing.
