MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International
exists to meet the needs of all moms who share a similar
desire to be the very best mothers they can be! MOPS
recognizes that the years from infancy to kindergarten
are foundational in a mother-child relationship and
are filled with unique needs.
Northbrook United Methodist Church’s MOPS chapter
provides a caring atmosphere for mothers of young children
to recharge themselves, make new friends and deepen
their relationships with Christ. We meet the second
and fourth Tuesday of each month during the school year.
Our meetings include interesting speakers on topics
ranging from marriage and family issues to home decorating
and fitness. MOPS members also participate in small
discussion groups that allow moms to foster meaningful
friendships while sharing the joys and challenges of
parenting young children.
MOPS provides loving and safe on-site childcare during
meetings so that preschoolers get a chance to play and
explore new interests, too. Childcare workers are carefully
screened and trained to work with preschool children.
Equipped with a wonderful curriculum designed for tots,
the nursery staff ensures the even the littlest ones
have a fun and enriching experience at MOPS meetings.
