Stephen Ministry is your ministry. It belongs to
all of us at Northbrook, not just to the pastors, Stephen
Leaders, or Stephen Ministers. Your support is important
in a number of ways.
Stephen Ministry needs your prayers: for the Stephen
Leaders and Stephen Ministers, for the care receivers,
and for the healing God is working through each caring
relationship.
Stephen Ministry needs your support to help foster a
more caring environment at Northbrook. Remember the
“one another” passages as you meet, greet,
and talk to people. Take time to listen and care for
those around you.
Remember also to Think Stephen Ministry. Always be conscious
of those around you at church, home, work, and elsewhere.
You are the eyes and ears of Jesus. When you see someone
going through a difficult time, tell them about our
Stephen Ministry and connect them with a Stephen Leader.
When you encounter a difficult time, be receptive to
care yourself.

The Stephen Ministry is one of God's blessings to
Northbrook. Men and women, committed to caring for others,
have been trained to listen, support, and help others
find solutions for life's problems.
These problems are often short-term, but may take a
year or more to resolve. Our ministers are more than
willing to be there for you when you need someone most
and for the entire journey. Often times we don't want
to burden our spouse, parents, children, or friends
with our problems because they have enough to bear as
it is. This is when a Stephen Minister can be that supportive
friend for you. |
What is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love
one another. Through one-to-one caring relationships,
those who are hurting receive the love and care they
need to support them.
- Is life more than you can handle alone right now?
- Are you suffering with your health, attitude or
relationships?
- Are you adjusting to a new job, a change in marital
status, a serious illness, the death of a loved one,
a recent move?
- Would you like someone in your life who really cares?
Everyone goes through difficult times. Having someone
to care, to listen, to share God's love with you, can
help you through the confusion, stress, or loneliness
you may be experiencing. |
