Northbrook Women's Ministry
All of our women’s ministries are open to newcomers and members alike. You are invited to visit any group and you will receive a warm welcome. Women’s ministry at Northbrook UMC encourages women to invest in opportunities to grow in their love and knowledge of our savior Jesus Christ. We are involved in Bible Study, fellowship and service with other women in the Northbrook family. There is a group to match the interests of every woman. Take a moment to review the descriptions of ministries that follows; you’re sure to find the right place where you will be inspired to advance The Kingdom of God!
Current Women's Ministries at Northbrook UMC

From September through May, Connect will meet the First and Third Thursday of every month from 10 - 11:30 in the End Zone. Connect is a ministry providing an opportunity for women of all ages to come together and share their faith walk. As Christians, we are all called to live by the example of Christ - this year Connect will focus on more fully living Christ's example of serving and ministering to others. Each month, we will devote one meeting to a variety of in-house service projects (TBD). In addition, our (low-prep) video-based Bible study this year is Lysa Terkeurst's "What Happens When Women Say 'Yes' to God". And, we will have several speakers (TBD) to enlighten and inspire us as we seek to identify the Lord's individual and unique calling on each of our lives. (A one-time fee of $30 will be collected at registration to off-set the costs of the study and service project materials) For any questions or to register please contact Heather Louis at mhlouis@mindspring.com or 404-966-7993 or register online.

Without formal programs our Link is designed to help to help us develop as whole persons through Christ, to strengthen our love and support for each other and for our community. Our mission outreach includes projects that give caring support and fellowship within our group, our church, and our community. At this time all of our members are over sixty, but we welcome any age. Northbrook Crafters meet weekly at the Northbrook House. We work on many projects for our own Church such as prayer shawls, baby blankets, baptism cloths and many others. Special requests from any church group are welcome. We also make crafts for our annual craft sale in November. Proceeds go to our mission projects. We also make blankets and bags for Life for Children Ministry in Africa. New members are welcome to join this active group. No special skills required, there is something for everyone to do! Northbrook Book Club meets every 1st Tues., Sept. through May, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the library. Women’s Evening Bible Study meets Thursday nights from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. from August until May. Women’s Wesley Groups are small groups that meet weekly for fellowship, spiritual growth and prayer. We are always ready to start a new group or add to current groups. If you are interested contact Jacinda Kolosna at jkolosna@gmail.com or 770-289-1444 and let her know the best days or times for you to meet.

A Women’s Council comprised of representatives of each group meets regularly to pray, seek God’s will, and plan for the women of the church and the community. It is the hope of the council that each woman find a unique fit in ministry to and with other women of Northbrook and the community.

We look forward to seeing you.
