Northbrook Women's Ministry

Welcome to an exciting year of programs and ministries for women at Northbrook United Methodist Church.

The programs and ministries offer women fellowship – providing a place where growth can take place. The goal of women’s ministries at Northbrook is to provide opportunities for women to experience the living Christ through small-group Bible study, mission projects, community outreach, programs and special events.

While each group shares that goal, the groups differ in primary purposes. The small groups of United Methodist Women – Circles – are rooted in mission, and involved in programs locally and globally. MOPS is a ministry for mothers of preschoolers which offers moms the opportunity to develop friendships, creativity, leadership, and personal relationships with Jesus Christ. A new ministry, Sisters in Christ , has as its goal to provide opportunities for women of all ages and stages to grow spiritually.

In addition to these ministries, groups such as the Thursday Night Women's Fellowship Group provide women an opportunity to grow their faith, share faith-forming stories that encourage and deepen relationships, and discuss ideas related to spiritual growth.

Are you interested in reading good fiction and non-fiction related
to spiritual themes? The Women’s Spiritual Book Club will resume this fall. We will discuss and choose books to read from a list of options that will be presented. We will also discuss future meeting times. This group will be fun for women of all ages and at all stages of their spiritual journey.

A Women’s Council comprised of representatives of each group meets regularly to pray, seek God’s will, and plan for the women of the church and the community. It is the hope of the council that each woman find a unique fit in ministry to and with other women of Northbrook and the community.

We look forward to seeing you.
