THANK YOU
Many, many thanks for all of your caring cards, notes and offers of help during my illness. It has been since Sept. 23 and you have been such loving, caring friends. I truly do appreciate all that you do. It certainly helps to know that I am surrounded by such wonderful friends. May God bless you all.

Our “Random Acts of Christmas” campaign during Advent was a tremendous success.  Now, what great opportunities for “togethering” we’re going to have in 2017!  All of the ministries above and more are available to you (special thanks to Northbrook member Judy Waits for compiling the bulk of the list!).  Be sure to look for your “Togethering” form beginning January 8, and return it to the church by January 29.  Let’s make 2017 a year dedicated to Encountering God, Loving Everyone, Serving the Community – Together!
My best for you and Christ,
                             Hannah

Guatemala Update from Craig & Carol Hill

We have been here for 6 weeks now. We have had many blessings along with trials. Jesus told the disciples that they would have trials but he would be with them to the end of the earth. We do no regret one instant the decision to follow Christ to Guatemala. He has blessed us in so many ways since we have been here. We have found a church home in Shoreline, a church plant from Dallas, Texas. Every you meet other missionaries and Guatemalans to worship the same God. It remains me of how the church should be in many tongues and many backgrounds we can worship together.  The Adventures Guatemala team has more than welcomed us. They are our family. We pray together and worship together once a week. Beginning in January we will be adding 3 new members to our team. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for His Kingdom in Guatemala.
Over the past 3 weeks we have been in a construction mode. We put in a new water pump, built a large deck on the roof including spiral staircase, added an event tent to the roof. Eventually we hope to be able to host racers on the roof along with the rooms. We want to give a great shout out to Lewis Poley and Mike Johnson for coming down and helping us build 54 wooden bunk beds. We saved a queen sized bed for anyone who can’t manage one of these amazing beds. We now can host pretty much any size group. With the roof we will be able to accommodate around 60 at a time.
Tis the season with Thanksgiving and Christmas arriving to give thanks and to look forward to the birth of our Lord and Savior. We want to thank everyone who has prayed for us and supported us financially. This is God’s ministry that is being supported by you. We want to invite you to come visit and do ministry with us sometime. We hope that this season brings you and your family hope and joy.
 Mi Casa es Su Casa

Merry Christmas,
Carol and Craig

Registration for 2017-18
Registration for 1-year-olds
Church members have the first priority for registration for our 1-year-old classes. Children should be either between the ages of 12-18 months or between 18-24 months on September 1, 2017. We have one class for 12-18 months that meets on Thursday. There are 2-day classes for 18-24 months that meet on MW and also on Tues/Fri. Registration for church member swill be on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. at the preschool office. A lottery will be used if there are more children than spaces permit.
Church member registration for 2s-5s will be Thursday, January 26 at 9:45 a.m. in Room 226. We will also be holding registration for previous parents and for public kindergarten at the same time. Church members will be registered first, then previous parents, and finally public kindergarten. A lottery will be used if there are more children than spaces permit.
Please download and complete the Student Information Form from the preschool website found on the preschool website registration page www.nortbrookumcpreschool.com and bring it with you to registration. You will be expected to pay a $125 registration fee and the first tuition payment if your child is accepted. We will do a lottery if there are more parents who show up for registration than we have spaces to accommodate.
Community registration will be Monday, January 30 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 133. It will be a lottery. It isn’t necessary to show up early, but you should be in line before 5:00. If a child is accepted, the parents are expected to pay $125 registration fee and the first tuition payment. Please share this date with any friends who are not church members.

Silent Auction Coming in March

Can you donate something? The preschool will have an on-line auction from March 13-26. You will want to check out the auction website once it is up and running to bid on wonderful items. Be thinking ahead to determine if you can donate something to the auction or if you would be willing to be a sponsor. Sponsorships can be donated by individuals or businesses. The sponsorships cover the costs associated with the auction. If you have something to donate, please contact Emily Johnson at ejohnson@northbrookumc.com. Vacation homes, special skills of something you make, an evening of babysitting, a restaurant gift card, etc. are all ideas of things that would make wonderful auction items. The proceeds from the auction will provide scholarships and some special professional development for the teachers. In addition, the funds will support the ministry of the preschool.

He is trying to make this as easy as possible, so don’t be scared! Signup today!!

Sunday Night Help
We are excited to report that our youth group is growing at an awesome rate! One of the things that this means is that we need more help on Sunday nights.
