What is a Season of Belonging? At Northbrook, we are called to love others just as Christ has loved us. That call to welcome people does not end with an invitation — it challenges us to help people find authentic community and a meaningful place at the table.
Throughout the remainder of 2026, Northbrook will focus on the ministry of Belonging, the first step in our three-fold discipleship pathway. To support this vision, we are launching a new initiative called A Season of Belonging — a church-wide emphasis designed to help people build deeper relationships with God and with one another. As United Methodists, we are uniquely shaped by a connectional tradition that values community, grace, and spiritual growth together. Scripture reminds us that “we, who are many, are one body in Christ” (Romans 12:5), and that the early church devoted itself to fellowship, worship, and caring for one another (Acts 2:42–47). |

Throughout the year, we will engage in seasonal campaigns, ministry initiatives, and teaching emphases that build on one another and help strengthen our shared life together. We have also planned special “Big Tent Sundays,” where the entire church family will gather in celebration and connection. This multi-stage approach is designed to strengthen Northbrook’s already warm and welcoming culture while creating clearer pathways for people to experience belonging in meaningful ways. In a world where many people feel isolated, the church has the opportunity to become a place where every person is known, welcomed, and loved — because we are children of God, family in Christ.
