CONNECT is a different kind of women’s ministry, coming this fall to Northbrook. CONNECT is about being bold, getting real, and talking with other Christian women about what really matters to you. It’s about renewing your connections to God, Northbrook, other women, and yourself. If you’re married, single, or somewhere in between…if you’re a woman with children older than preschool age...join us in launching this life-changing ministry that will include dynamic speakers and inspiring conversation. Limited childcare will be available on a reservation-only basis. Come to recharge, come to grow, come as you are…and come to CONNECT!

Attention Golfers! Life For Children's Ministry (Ministry to Kenyan AIDS orphans) will be hosting a charity golf tournament at Bradshaw Farms on September 16th. If you are interested in playing or would like more information about the tournament or ministry please contact Charles Clements at clem323@comcast.net.

Ever Though about Becoming a Stephen Minister? Northbrook will be training another class of Stephen Ministers beginning September 10th.
Stephen Ministers work alongside our pastors to care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. If you have gifts for caring, encouragement, and listening prayerfully consider being a part of this exciting ministry. If you think you might be interested, please contact Elaine Riddle at 770-998-2000 ext 240 for an application.

Have you ever been in a desperate situation and needed someone to encourage you through prayer?  Have you ever been thankful for an answered prayer?  Have you ever been a part of a group that encourages and lifts each other in prayer?  YOU are invited to be a part of the prayer chain at Northbrook.  It is so simple and requires little time.  Contact me at julieturner@mindspring.com and let me know you want to be added to our group and you will receive perhaps one or two emails per week with prayer requests.  As soon as you receive one, take a few minutes to pray for this person or situation.  It will be a blessing to you and others.

Furniture Donations Welcomed Due to limited storage, Northbrook no longer has a furniture bank. If you have gently used furniture or working appliances to donate, please call Phil Hodges with North Fulton Community Charities at 770-640-0399. Phil will pick up your furniture and it will be sold in NFCC’s Thrift Shop. Proceeds from sales are used to fund the many services NFCC provides to their clients in North Fulton.

The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. To find out more about the program and finding a sponsor, contact Julie Turner (770-992-6011 or julieturner@mindspring.com).
