shoes SHOES FOR ORPHANS – JANUARY COLLECTION
Our semi-annual collection for the children at Orphanage Emmanuel in Honduras and the orphans supported by Life For Children Ministry in Kenya will be conducted throughout January. Your donations of gently used children’s shoes of all sizes, and new underwear and socks continue to be a tremendous blessing to these children. From our last collection in August, we shipped over 400 pairs of shoes; however, you parents can imagine how quickly 700+ active boys and girls can go through them. Donations may be placed in the handprint bins on the patio throughout the month of January. Please contact Charles Clements if you have any questions or would like to get involved with either of these organizations.

ESL classes
ESL PROGRAM We are planning to start our SPRING SEMESTER on January 24th all the way through early May. If you shared with us
this past semester and you would like to keep doing so, let me know if you want to keep doing what you are doing, or if you want to do something else. If you weren’t part of this first semester, I invite you to join the team and get involved. We
want to keep growing, so we need more TEACHERS, TUTORS, CHILDCARE, SNACKS and DRIVERS. There are still some areas in which you can help! This is our fall schedule and our needs:
Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 (teachers, tutors, childcare, snacks and drivers)
Wednesday from 10:00 to 12:00 (teachers and drivers)
Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 (teachers and drivers)
You don’t have to commit to every single day of the week; you can ONLY pick one day per week and that would be amazing!
2ND SATURDAYS OF SERVICE We have been serving in the community on the second Saturday of each month since November and the need for our hands and feet remains tremendous. On February 11th we will complete home repairs for a woman in Roswell who’s home was damaged by the flooding 3 years ago and had no insurance to cover the repairs needed. Everyone serving in the groups led by Lewis Poley have been blessed with fellowship, a sense of accomplishment, and a little education in “do it yourself ” work. Our project for this month will be to help with landscaping at the United Methodist Children’s home in Decatur. Please contact Trey Kinney at trey@gokinney.com with questions, suggestions. Sign up online to serve.

children's choir The Music Ministry has several opportunities in all our groups from children’s choirs to the Chancel Choir, Hand Bell Choir and Youth Choir. If you enjoy singing, we have a place for you and your children in our choirs. Ever thought about playing hand bells? Experience is not necessary. We learn while we play and it’s easy to get started.

Music is an important part of our lives and instilling a love of music in our children is a precious gift that we can give to them. We need a few people to help with our children’s choirs this year. You do not have to be a trained musician or have experience teaching music. We will work together to share music with the children. Please prayerfully consider joining in with us. If you have interest in these ministries, please call Brian McLeod at ext. 224.

RAINBOWS is a peer support group program that provides a bridge to emotional healing for children, adolescents confronting death, divorce or other painful family transition – “because it doesn’t need to hurt forever.” Change is a part of life, but it can also be frightening – particularly for children who don’t understand what is happening. Grieving children need caring, trustworthy and knowledgeable adults to help them through the pain. And in cases of family transition, many times parents are trying to cope with the loss themselves.

OUTREACH NEEDS! Do you love meeting new people? Does making people feel welcome make you feel fulfilled? The Outreach Committee is looking to form a team to help in a variety of outreach efforts, including baking cookies and food for outreach events, helping to plan fun events and welcoming new families to our church. Interested in this fun and vital ministry? Email Shannon Georgecink at sgeorgecink@gmail.com.

IT'S OKAY TO BE HUMAN: We're brought up to be strong, self-sufficient, independent people. We tend to think that if we ask for help, it is a sign of weakness. So we try to keep our struggles hidden, stuffed deep inside. God wants us to care for others - and allow others to care for us in our time of need. To find out more about Stephen Ministry for yourself or someone you know, talk with Stephen Leader Debora Daniel at 770-891-2002.
