Are You Listening? – Conversations With God
1st & 3rd Sunday Nights | 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. | May 5, 19 | Room 233
This small group gathering requires no study guide or advance prep. Leader Bruce Fielden will do the research and lead the discussion on various topics, such as the Beatitudes, non-dualism, contemplation, creation, faith and science, freedom, the image of God, heaven and hell, mysticism, pluralism, parables, prayer, characters of the Bible, the Wesleyan quadrilateral and so on. During the first session or two, members of the group will choose the topics for further sessions.

Jennifer Smalley will be leading a new Thursday evening Bible study via Zoom beginning April 11 at 7:30 pm. The 6-week study "Surrendered," by Barb Roose teaches six principles that lead to a surrendered life by comparing/contrasting Jesus' time of testing in the wilderness to the Israelites 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. This study will equip you to give up control, reach for God, let go of fear, and experience the blessings of a surrendered life. Participants should purchase their own workbook (available on Amazon, Cokesbury and Christianbook.com) before the class starts. A new 7-week study will begin on Thursday mornings at 10:30 am on April 11 entitled "For His Glory: A Study of Ephesians," by Marian Jordan Ellis. This is an in-depth study of the book of Ephesians in which Marian invites us on a journey to discover our true worth in Christ, our status as beloved children of God, and our glorious calling as His masterpiece. Come out for our two-part series on the surprising connections between Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie and Christian theology. We will watch half the film each night and have a discussion. Dinner will be provided on both nights. This class will be led by Rev. Kena Newkirk. To register, click here.
