The Book of Isaiah gained enormous significance for early Christians as they explored the text and applied it to messianic references in the life and ministry of Jesus. Yet, modern scholarship warns us not to get too caught up in the text's predictive nature, or we might be tempted to believe the book is simply a prophecy to be passively witnessed, rather than a proclamation that demands an active response.
As we study Isaiah during this season, we will take time to consider the Scripture in its original context and reflect on its meaning during our own time. The Book of Isaiah is timeless and hopeful, and we pray you will join us on this Advent study, eager for a new revelation each day. |

Begins November 28 | 9 AM This is the 22nd year of selling Fraser Fir Christmas trees from NC to raise funds in support of children. Every dollar of profit supports this Ministry. Volunteer to help unload or to work the tree lot. We especially need volunteers on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after Thanksgiving! |

Christmas Poinsettias Deadline December 12 Give a poinsettia in memory or in honor of a loved one. Poinsettias will be placed in the sanctuary, and each memorial and honoree will be listed in the bulletin on Sunday, December 21. You will also be able to take home your poinsettia after the 11 AM service on December 21. The cost is $20. |
