Safe Sanctuaries

Safe Sanctuaries Resources

Picture
Northbrook UMC believes that the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of our children, youth and vulnerable adults is imperative. All workers and volunteers must complete Safe Sanctuaries training, a background check and volunteer reference form every two years. Forms should be completed and sent to the person in charge of your area of ministry. This includes volunteers working with our community partners such as Scouts, Community Bible Study, and Mothers of Preschoolers.

Volunteers should review our Safe Sanctuaries Policy before taking the evaluation.

CPR training is offered yearly for volunteers interested. Contact Allen Whittaker for more information.

Accident & Incident Form

By law in the State of Georgia, any suspected child abuse or neglect must be reported to the Department of Family and Children’s Services or DFCS [OCGA 19-7-5(c)(1)]. While there is a legal obligation to report suspected abuse or neglect, we also believe there is a moral responsibility to prevent it whenever possible. A report must be made within 24 hours of the discovery of suspected abuse or neglect:  By phone 1-855-GACHILD (1-855-422-4453)  Or online.

If the child is in immediate danger, report to law enforcement (911).
